Letter from the Tambourine-wallah

Rain, Rain, its here again
Over the valley , over the plain
Drip drop, drip-drop dusk to dawn
Over our roof and over our lawn
Over the river and over the sea
Over the world but Not over me...

The little girl was sitting by her little window and singing this song to the rain the other day.
I stopped near her window and asked, “But why not on your head? It feels so nice!”
“But you should not go out in the rain!”
“Why not?”
“That’s the rule.”
“Who made it?”
“I don’t know.”
“What if you break it for once?”
“Could I?”
”Try it.”
Down she came from her perch on the window sill and walked into the rain.
“How nice it feels!” said she as the first few drops kissed her brow. Hand in hand, we then took a long walk in the warm July rain.

Did you ever walk or dance in the rain? Try it. It is far better than playing a computer game. Happy rain-dancing ----- and... well... happy reading.

Yours

Tambourine-wallah
